Magical lunch boxes with GLAD!

A magical lunch box for boys!

Main meal:

• Pizza pinwheel

1 x 400g pack ready-rolled puff pastry

45 ml ready-made Napoletana pasta sauce

50 ml tomato chutney

250 ml grated cheddar cheese

65 g sliced smoked ham, chopped

15 ml fresh parsley, chopped

1. Place the pastry on a lightly floured surface. Mix the pasta sauce and chutney together, spread in an even layer over the pastry.
2. Sprinkle the cheese and ham over the sauce. Roll closed like a Swiss roll.
3. Slice roll into 3 cm thick slices. Place slices cut side down onto a lightly greased baking tray.  Sprinkle with the parsley.
4. Bake in a preheated oven at 220°C for 10 – 15 minutes or until golden in colour and pastry is cooked.
5. Remove from heat and allow to cool to room temperature.
6. Pack two to three pinwheels into a Glad Rainbow Sandwich bag with bite-size vegetables.
7. Fold closed and secure with a fun sticker provided.
8. Serves 1.

Tip:

Slice and bake only the amount of pinwheels needed. Wrap the remainder of the roll in Glad Cling Wrap and freeze until needed. Bake pinwheels from frozen for 20 – 25 minutes or until golden and pastry is cooked.

Snacks and drinks for during the day:

• Frozen mineral water and flavoured milk.
• Animal shaped biscuits/rice crispie cookies/ trail mix/ dried fruit pieces.
• Fresh fruit/vegetables cut into bite size pieces.
• Place all the snacks in different coloured Glad Rainbow sandwich bags, this will help to distinguish between the contents of the bag. Use the fun stickers to secure bags. Label each by writing the name of the contents on each sticker or write a note to your loved ones.
